Egg toast: 4 Ingredients for great taste!

Egg toast with a side salad is an amazing dinner or lunch, because it is healthy, filling and incredibly quick. This recipe is perfect if you come home after work and do not have a lot of time to cook. Or if you need a very quick lunch in home office. If I am really hungry, I even make it for breakfast. The best about it is the preparation and cooking time – it is just 10 minutes and you can start snacking!

This recipe is made with a few ingredients. And I am sure you definitely have those ingredients in your fridge. They are toast bread, cheese, pickles and fried onions. You can use any toast bread you like. I like using whole grain toast. The eggs with warm bread and melted cheese is an amazing combination, but adding some pickles on top brings a lot of flavor. Sprinkle some fried onions for crunchiness and you get an amazingly tasty toast.
It is important to add pickles and fried onions after the cheese is melted and right before you remove the toast from the pan. If you add fried onions and keep frying under the lid, they can turn wet and loose their crunch.

Ingredients

  • 2 eggs
  • 1 egg white
  • 1 toast cheese
  • 35 g of pickles
  • 7 g fried onions
  • 1 piece of toast bread

Instructions

  • Cut 1 piece of toast bread and 1 toast cheese in half. Cut 35 g of pickles into stripes.
  • Heat the pan on medium heat (1-2 minutes). Beat 2 eggs + 1 egg white and add salt and pepper to taste.
  • Grease the pan with oil, especially the sides – this way your egg mixture will not stick to them. Pour the egg mixture into the pan. Immediately lay out a piece of toast, cut in half at a distance of about 2 cm. Turn the pieces of bread on the other side to soak both sides of the bread. Close the lid, fry for about 3-5 minutes.
  • Turn the egg toast on the other side. Put the cheese on the bread, leave for 3 minutes under the lid until the cheese melts (1-2 minutes). Put cucumbers and onions on top, fold the edges of the egg toast on four sides to the middle. Fold the egg toast and remove immediately from the pan, put it on a plate and serve.
