Homemade french fries: only 3 ingredients

The fries turn out very crispy and you do not need to go to a fast-food store to enjoy the perfect fries. The amount of oil we are using is quite low – you need it for fries to be crispy – but it is way lower than store bought fries. The store bought fries contain around 17 g of fat per serving – we are baking our fries and not deep frying them – that is why this recipe contains 3 times less fat than regular fries. Because of baking fries in the oven we also make these french fries less in calories – one serving contains under 200 calories and you can definitely enjoy it and reach your health goals.

If you want to keep eating your favorite food and keep losing weight the best is to change the way you cook it. Go for a healthier version of your favorite snack and you do not need to restrict yourself. Check my recipe for healthy donuts – they are also baked in the oven and turn out amazingly delicious – I am curious which is your favorite frosting. Also delicious are healthy mac and cheese muffins – low in calories and full of melted cheese Flavor.

Ingredients

  • 700 g potatoes
  • 20 g oil
  • salt pepper, spices

Instructions

  • Turn on the oven at 220 C / 430 F.
  • Peel 700 g of potatoes, cut them into strips, wash several times, dry with paper towels. The potatoes should be very dry – this is important.
  • Add 20 g of oil to the potatoes, mix well and massage the potatoes, so they are all covered with oil. Lay the potatoes on parchment paper so that the pieces do not touch each other. Bake in a well-heated oven at 220 C / 425 F for 30 minutes, then turn over and bake for another 10-15 minutes. The time depends on your oven.
  • Put the potatoes in a bowl, add salt, pepper and other spices to taste.
