Game changer yogurt!

Pear dessert with sweet roasted pear, crunchy homemade granola and your favorite yogurt is an absolute game changer! It is easy and quick, combines so many natural flavors and is absolutely healthy. The recipe is refined sugar free, but still very sweet. I am using maple syrup to add a little bit of sweetness to granola and the pear is sweet on its own. During roasting in a pan with coconut oil the pear develops even more sweetness and gets softly caramelized. I recommend roasting a pear with coconut oil and not to substitute it with another oil type: the pear gets so much coconut flavor and you will not get it with other oils. For this recipe I am using greek yogurt – feel free to substitute it with any yogurt of your choice. The last step is to layer the dessert in a glass or mason jar. I put a layer of roasted pear and granola and always add a yogurt layer in between. This is the best way to get a balanced flavor of all the ingredients!

Ingredients

  • 120 g pears half of one pear. The best is to use green pears. Not ripe.
  • 5 g coconut oil for roasting
  • 140 g greek yogurt

Granola:

  • 30 g oat flakes I used spelt flakes. Use large flakes, that have to be cooked to prepare, not fine oat flakes
  • 12 g maple syrup

Instructions

Let’s prepare granola first:

  • Put 30 g of oat flakes in a dry pan without adding any oil.
  • Roast in a pan over medium heat, stirring constantly (until the flakes are crunchy). This takes around 10 minutes. Add 12 g of maple syrup, mix well, roast for another 5 minutes.
  • The crunchy granola is ready.

Next prepare roasted pear:

  • Melt 5 g of coconut oil in a pan. Cut 120 g of pear into thin pieces (around 5-7 mm thick). Roast a pear on both sides in a pan. The best way to do it is on a medium heat. Roast on both sides several times, this way the pear gets soft and sweet. Once the pear is roasted and cold, you can warm it up in the oven.

Let’s prepare the pear dessert:

  • Layer in a glass: yogurt, granola, yogurt, roasted pear, yogurt, granola, yogurt, roasted pear until there are no ingredients left!
