A quick snack without sugar

Roasted pear on bread with goat cheese is my favorite dessert. It is like having a piece of cake, but you need way less time to make it! Just cut a pear, roast it in coconut oil in a pan on both sides and your dessert is ready! The pear gets a little bit caramelized during roasting and you do not even need to add any sugar.
I really love the combination of roasted pear and goat cheese – but if you do not like goat cheese, pick another type of cheese. You can use camembert or brie. I recommend using a soft type of cheese, because it melts a little bit when you put a hot pear on it. And the last step is to put a topping on toast. The topping consists of only 2 ingredients – dijon mustard and maple syrup and is so delicious! It is sweet, sour, soft and just a little bit spicy. The best combination to emphasize the taste of pear and goat cheese.

Ingredients

  • 35 g whole wheat bread 1 piece
  • 40 g goat cheese
  • 120 g pear half of one pear. The best is to use green pears. Not ripe.
  • 5 g coconut oil for roasting

Topping

  • 13 g wholegrain mustard
  • 7 g of maple syrup

Instructions

  • Cut 120 g of pear into pieces (5-7 mm thick). It is better to use green, not yet ripe pear fruits. Melt 5 g of coconut oil in a pan.
  • Roast pieces of pear in a pan at medium temperature (I have 6 out of 9). Roast on both sides, until a pear is dark and caramelized. Turn the pear pieces several times, then it gets golden brown. Once the pear is roasted and is cold, you can warm it up in the oven.
  • Cut 40 g of goat cheese into pieces. Prepare the topping: mix 13 g of wholegrain mustard and 7 g of maple syrup.
  • On a whole wheat bread* put cutted goat cheese, then a warm roasted pear and sprinkle with topping.
