Ingredients
- 2 eggs
- 20 g oat milk
- 40 g parmesan cheese
Instructions
- Firstly, whisk 2 eggs with 20 g of oat milk using a fork until well combined.
- Next, grate Parmesan cheese using a fine grater.
- Then, pour 40 g of Parmesan cheese evenly into a cold frying pan.* After that, turn the stove to maximum heat (for me, it’s 9 out of 9) and place the frying pan with Parmesan on the stove. Wait for the cheese to melt and start bubbling (this usually takes about 3 minutes).*
- Once the cheese has melted, pour the egg mixture over the melted Parmesan.
- Cover the pan with a lid and reduce the heat to medium (about 4 out of 9). Cook the omelette for 3-4 minutes until it is set but still slightly moist on top.
- Afterwards, fold the omelette in half or into thirds, as desired.
- Finally, fry the omelette for a couple more minutes until it is golden brown on both sides. Serve hot and enjoy!

Tips & hacks for the recipe
Tips
*The omelette is cooked without adding any oil, and no salt is added to the mixture.
*To prepare this omelette, I use a 28-cm-diameter frying pan, which is always coated with non-stick material. Alternatively, you can use a 26-cm or 24-cm frying pan, but the resulting omelette will be thicker.
*For best results, I recommend that you stick to the heating mode of the stove, and adjust the heat level as needed during the cooking process (as instructed in the recipe).

Making a cheese omelette is a simple process that can be completed in just around 10 minutes. It is a convenient dish that can be prepared for breakfast or dinner. To begin, mix eggs with milk; you can use a plant-based milk, although regular milk is also an option.

When it comes to making a cheese omelet, any hard cheese can be used. However, if you’re looking for the most delicious option, Parmesan cheese is the way to go. To prepare a Parmesan cheese omelet, simply grate the cheese and sprinkle it onto a pan without adding any oil. Once the Parmesan starts to boil, pour the beaten eggs onto the pan and cook to your liking.
When cooking a cheese omelet in the classic way, you have the option of adding any vegetables you like. However, I prefer not to add any vegetables to my Parmesan egg omelet recipe because they tend to release liquid and can prevent the omelet from developing a crispy Parmesan crust. Instead, I fry the omelet with Parmesan, eggs, and a bit of milk to achieve a satisfyingly crispy texture.
Once the omelet is cooked, you can serve it alongside fresh vegetables or a vegetable salad. I personally enjoy adding fresh spinach, tomatoes, cucumbers, and grated carrots to my omelet for a pop of color and added nutrition.
While a regular omelet has soft and fluffy texture, an omelet made with Parmesan cheese has a unique texture that sets it apart. Specifically, a Parmesan omelet is fluffy on one side, while the other side has a hard crust due to the cheese melting and crisping up.
Are you wondering how many calories are in a cheese omelette? Well, my recipe for cheese omelette contains 293 calories. However, the calorie count of a cheese omelette can vary depending on how you prepare it. Let me explain further. By using less oil and cheese, you can easily keep your cheese omelette low in calories. In fact, the best thing about a cheese omelette isn’t just that it can be low in calories; it’s also a great source of protein. As a result, after eating it, you’ll feel full for a long period of time.
Are you looking to make a cheese omelette without milk? The good news is that you can easily omit milk in a cheese omelette. However, it’s worth noting that doing so can affect the texture of your omelette. Without milk, your omelette may not have a fluffy texture. But don’t worry, there’s a simple solution. Instead of regular milk, you can use oat milk (make sure it’s good quality and has no added sugar) to achieve that fluffy texture without adding any cow’s milk.
Did you know there are many ways to fold a cheese omelette? Depending on your preference, you can fold it in different ways. For instance, you can fold your omelette in half, in four, in an envelope, or even roll it up. The choice is yours! So, feel free to experiment and try different folding techniques until you find the one that best suits your taste.
There are many delicious options to choose from. For example, you can pair your omelette with a refreshing vegetable salad made with fresh vegetables or pickled vegetables of your choice. Another great option is to serve it with sliced avocado or a dollop of yogurt or sour cream sauce. The possibilities are endless, so feel free to get creative and find the perfect accompaniment to your cheese omelette.
Are you considering freezing your cheese omelette for later? Unfortunately, there’s some bad news. Omelettes generally do not freeze well and can lose their flavor and texture when reheated. Moreover, since omelettes are quick and easy to make, there’s really no need to freeze them. It takes just 10 minutes to cook, so you can easily whip up a fresh omelette whenever you’re in the mood for a delicious and satisfying meal.
